Why do I need a mask fitting?
Every mask does not fit every person. There are different types of masks with different features, sizes and quality. The only way you can tell if it works is to try it on. Las Vegas Sleep Center now offers those who are on CPAP/BIPAP therapy in Southern Nevada the opportunity to have an appropriate mask fitting, as well as trying the latest masks that are available.
What should I expect during the mask fitting appointment?
Please bring your CPAP/BIPAP device and the mask you are currently using. You will learn more about masks and trying those masks on to get the right size. If you like a specific mask, you will get the name and size of this mask so you can order it from your Durable Medical Equipment (DME) supplier. If you prefer, you can purchase the mask from our clinic.
What is not included during this visit?
Please understand that this is not a consultation with our physician. We cannot change your pressure or answer questions about the adequacy of your current treatment. If you would like a consultation with our sleep physician, that will be a separate appointment.
Will I be educated about my machine?
Yes. We can go over some of the features of your device that can help you.
Why can't I use my insurance?
This appointment is only available for cash pay patients who are not seen by our sleep physician. If you would like to use your insurance, you will need to be a regular patient at our clinic and will need to schedule a consultation with our sleep physician. Mask fitting comes as a separate follow up appointment after your initial consultation.
Can I get a download from my CPAP device?
Yes. We can download your device for an additional $50.00. Please know that some devices may not download.
